Surf ski paddling is the most enjoyable way to get that cardio, strength and abdominal workout whilst being surrounded by beautiful Sydney Harbour. Our outdoor harbour playground is a safe, flat water/wind protected area, creating perfect conditions to learn how to paddle.
We provide you the surf ski, paddle & lifejacket and our qualified paddling coaches will help improve your technique and fitness level. We paddle rain, hail or shine and provide an easy step by step guide to learning.
L1 - Learn to Paddle Classes
This is the first step to learning how to paddle a surf ski with the right stroke.
This class is all about learning all the tips & tricks to setting up the surf ski, launching onto the water, balancing the surf ski and pulling the surf ski forwards using the paddle correctly.
Please arrive 15mins before the App class start time to meet the coach, be set up on a stable surf ski and to be on the water ready to go for the class.
We supply the stable surf ski, paddle and PFD. Simply turn up in activewear/water clothing and a drink bottle.
This class is run from the SHSC Clubhouse at Mosman – Middle Harbour Yacht Club – 75 Lower, Parriwi Rd, Mosman. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your lesson start time.

L1.5 - Learn the Right Stroke
L1.5 classes are the next step up from our L1 - Learn the Basics classes. In L1.5 classes we will focus on teaching you the right stroke stroke.
We will teach you the biomechanics involved so you use your body and the paddle correctly to pull the surf ski forward, while we aim to increase power and reduce drag.
This class is the stepping stone to get you ready for the L2 Flow/Technique classes.
Please arrive 15 mins before the App class start time to meet your coach, be setup on your surf ski and onto the water ready to go.

L2 - Flow Paddling Classes
The Flow Paddling Group’s focus is on improving paddlers’ fitness while developing better technique.
Interval training is introduced to increase your heart rate and improve fitness and paddling speed.
The coach is also able to spend time on skill development such as how to use the wind and swell, so you are confident in all paddling conditions.

L3 - Cardio Paddling Class
The Cardio Paddling classes follow a 10-week progressive overload training program, where every paddling session builds into the next. We use high intensity intervals to work your anaerobic, lactic threshold and aerobic energy systems to ensure that everyone is getting the desired cardio workout.

L4 - Turbo Paddling Classes
For our fast flatwater paddlers this group pushes you all to reach your full potential. The Turbo Paddling classes follow a 10-week progressive overload training program, where every paddling session builds into the next.
