Surf ski paddling is the most enjoyable way to get that cardio, strength and abdominal workout whilst being surrounded by beautiful Sydney Harbour. Our outdoor harbour playground is a safe, flat water/wind protected area, creating perfect conditions to learn how to paddle.
We provide you the surf ski, paddle & lifejacket and our qualified paddling coaches will help improve your technique and fitness level. We paddle rain, hail or shine and provide an easy 6 step learning process.
Start with our Level 1 – Learn to Paddle classes and progress at your own pace to our Level 2 Flow, Level 2.5 Advanced Flow, Level 3 Cardio, Level 3.5 Advanced Cardio, Level 4 Turbo, Level 5 Ocean Crew, Level 5.5 Advanced Ocean Crew, and Level 6 Downwind Crew.
Learn to Paddle Classes – Intensity Level 1

In the Learn to Paddle classes we start you on a stable (V8) surf ski and teach you the basics of surf ski paddling as we get you pulling the paddle through the water with the right muscles. We minimise drag and get you stable in the surf ski. After a minimum of 2 x lessons and if you feel ready you can immediately go up to our Level 2 Flow.

Flow Paddling Classes – Intensity Level 2

The Flow Paddling Group’s focus is on improving paddlers’ fitness while developing better technique. Interval training is introduced to increase your heart rate and improve fitness and paddling speed. The coach is also able to spend time on skill development such as how to use the wind and swell, so you are confident in all paddling conditions.

Cardio Paddling Class – Intensity Level 3

The Cardio Paddling classes follow a 10-week progressive overload training program, where every paddling session builds into the next. We use high intensity intervals to ensure that everyone is getting the desired cardio workout. All paddlers must be up to the V10 Sport surf ski to keep up with this group.

Turbo Paddling Classes – Intensity Level 4

For our fast flatwater paddlers this group pushes you all to reach your full potential. The Turbo Paddling classes follow a 10-week progressive overload training program, where every paddling session builds into the next.

Intro to Ocean – Intensity Level 1
80 mins
Each week we alternate to being on the Northern Beaches or Eastern Suburbs. We meet at the SHSC enclosed trailer where we have a stable V8 surf ski, paddle and lifejacket for you. The coach will take you out towards the ocean while keeping the group together and in safe waters. We find an easy area on the water to start you learning to catch wind and swell runners.
Level 2 Ocean – Intensity Level 2
80mins
Progressing from Intro to Ocean you will step up to level 2 ocean class where the coach will take you out a little further for you to chase more ocean curvatures and reach boat speeds over 20km/h. We will also focus on how to link from one run to other in the most efficient way possible to keep a high average boat speed and ultimately have a lot of fun along the way. There will be an emphasis on safety where we teach you to use a mobile phone tracking app, leg leash, VHF radio and eprib.
Downwind Crew – Intensity Level 6
1.5 hrs
Once you have successfully been through all our Intro to Ocean and Level 2 ocean protocols head Coach Luke Horder will sign you off as a competent ocean paddler. Now you are ready to jump on our downwind bus and be dropped off with the group for you all to downwind back to your cars (12-15km). You will have all your safety gear and be ready to safe yourself or others if need be. The thrill of going downwind cant be match! Its a thrill that only a paddler knows.
Private Paddling Lessons
